Three Local Commercial Retail Centers Managed by JMI

Three major commercial retail centers that we manage in St. George, Utah, are Sunset Corner, Pineview Plaza, and Commerce Pointe. Commerce Pointe being the newest of the three that started to come to fruition in early 2020.

Sunset Corner was the first full retail center managed by JMI, bringing to Southern Utah the first movie theater with stadium seating: Sunset Corner Stadium 8 Theatres! Cache Valley Bank was also constructed that year and the rest of the tenants followed suit, although many have changed throughout the years.

The Sunset Stadium 8 Theatre became very popular, and soon enough there was a second in the works: Pineview Stadium 10 Theatres, which started construction in early 2004 in our second retail center, Pineview Plaza. Like the Stadium 10 Theatres, there are still a few original tenants, such as Ashley Furniture and Best Mattress. We’ve had tenants at Pineview come and go over the years, but one that has been there for quite some time now is the Greek restaurant, Mad Pita Express, which has been with us since 2011, and has proven to be the first successful Greek restaurant in the area. Residents and tourists alike will attest to its authenticity (myself included)!

Finally, and many years later, the Commerce Pointe project broke ground, the concept for which was in the works for a good 10 years. Finally starting construction in 2020, just as the pandemic started (of all times), the building of Commerce Pointe was luckily undeterred by the changing economic landscape and was successfully completed later that year. Commerce Pointe brought us fresh, new businesses to Southern Utah, like Jersey Mike’s, Longhorn Steakhouse, and Houston TX Hot chicken, to name a few.
